I have trained both staff, students and parents in peacemaking circles for building relationships, community conferencing for serious wrong doing, restorative discipline, transition circles, peer mediation and family group decision making.
I have worked with students in classrooms where wrong-doing has occurred, have helped facilitate circles with teachers who want to improve with relationship building, have lead support circles for both students and staff. I also have developed a train the trainer model for schools looking to provide their own in house training. We also have trained staff in several local community agencies (Center for Youth and Hillside Children’s Center) who provide support as behavioral specialists in our local schools.
I have worked for 12+ years with the Avon Central School District; our organization is now supporting 15+ schools in a pilot with the Rochester City School District; we also have helped local districts who have an interest in becoming fully restorative reach that goal through a variety of trainings and approaches. During 2015, we trained approximately 1100 staff members and students in the schools in our area.

I am a retired school counselor from the Rochester City School District, where I spent 28 years working to creative positive school climate. Since joining PiRI (a local not for profit agency) in July 2003, I have continually worked to bring restorative practices to schools in our community. I have participated in trainings from Kay Pranis, IIRP, as well as attending several international and national conferences on restorative practices. I was instrumental in developing our school program and we now have 10+ certified Circle facilitators and trainers as part of our organization.
