Sara Balgoyen is the Executive Director at the Illinois Balanced and Restorative Justice Project (IBARJ), with 6 years of experience at IBARJ and a total of 10+ years of experience managing operations of various businesses. From 2005 to the present, IBARJ has worked together with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and other funders, non-profits, schools and communities around Illinois, assisting in training, consulting and collaborating to increase the availability of restorative practices. Increasingly Sara and IBARJ have been working within communities and schools to assist them in using restorative practices when working with youth. IBARJ has trained community members, justice system professionals, school staff and peers in restorative practices like peacemaking circles, peer juries, and conferencing.
