Circle Experience

I have been involved with circles since 2004, when I was introduced to the “Way of Council” through The Ojai Foundation. I have used circles in schools, with community groups, couples, and families, as part of nature-based rite-of-passage experiences, and in nonprofit governance.

Areas of Interest and Service

Schools and communities: facilitating both community-building circles and restorative conferences/peacemaking circles; and providing professional development and other support for schools that want to implement restorative practices.
Rites-of-passage for adults and youth.
Private mediation for families, businesses, organizations, schools, and communities.

Bio

I am a mediator, lawyer, restorative practices facilitator and trainer, and Way of Council facilitator and trainer. I am the founder and director of Circle Ways (www.circleways.org), a Los Angeles organization providing professional development, facilitation, and other services to schools that want to implement restorative practices. I have trained teachers, administrators, and counselors to integrate community-building and restorative justice practices into their curricula and operations. I am the principal of Rosner Law and Mediation (www.rosnerlawandmediation.com). I have provided legal representation to clients in a broad range of disputes in both court and administrative proceedings, and I have provided mediation and restorative justice services to help individuals, families, businesses, organizations, communities, and schools resolve their own disputes. I have developed and provided trainings to educators for institutional visioning, conflict resolution, restorative/transformative justice, and crisis intervention.
