Kay Pranis
Circle Experience
I have been working with Circles since 1996 helping to implement Circles in the adult and juvenile justice systems, schools, social services, workplaces, neighborhoods, mediation programs, churches and families. I have worked using Circles for conflict resolution and for community building in government agencies, community non-profits and universities.
Areas of Interest and Service
I conduct Circle trainings and apprentice Circle trainers. I am a Circle Keeper. I also provide coaching on designing Circles and on organizing to start Circle projects. Additionally, I speak at conferences about Circles and their applications and teach the Circle Process at two universities. I have authored/co-authored several books and articles on Circles.
Bio
I worked for the MN Dept. of Corrections for nine years between 1994 and 2003 as the Restorative Justice Planner. It was in that position that I learned about Circles and began my focus on Circles. I have had many wonderful teachers and am particularly indebted to Barry Stuart, Harold Gatensby, Mark Wedge and Phil Gatensby for my early learning about Circle process. For my on-going learning and growth I wish to thank Yako Tahnahga. I am deeply grateful for the gift of the Circle in my life.
